Over my years as a career artist, my artist statement changes on an almost minute by minute basis. Like most human beings my emotional state at any one given time affects my decisions and actions, and creating art is no different. Rather than be defined by a particular genre of painting, I paint what sparks my creativity at the moment. Whether it be my annual Santa Claus paintings, because of my love for the holiday season, or painting highly textured abstracts for an entire month, I paint what I am driven to paint. My hope, is that each piece of art that I create connects with a viewer(s) on a personal, emotional level. Just as it did for me when creating it.
